The Practical Side

Hello, Berries!

I have missed blogging so much!

So, Christmas is over.

We have entered a new year! Go us!

I was looking back over the pictures I took of my dorm room,

and I thought to myself,

"Self, you might as well put up the pictures

of the practical side."

So that is what I will do! (:

Looking through the pictures of where I do most of my living

bring sweet thoughts to my head...

It also makes for some great inspiration

on how to make practical spaces cute...

Like putting things you use often in cute containers...

And keeping the things you don't need every day under the sink.

And if something comes in a cute container,

why not decorate with it!

Here is a find I don't think I've shared yet:

This drop leaf side table for $15...

I may sand it down, but I'll have to think on it some more...

My precious friend of eleven years,

who is also my suite mate,

brought a load of tinsel from home

that we decorated our doors with.

Hers is decorated in silver with a snowman,

and mine in gold with a bow.

This dorm will always be one of the most special

places I've ever been,

if not the most special.

One more semester,

and I will leave my home of three years...

... to travel the world in eleven months...

Wow.

What a change of pace.

I am so blessed to have this safe haven,

and I will hold tight to the last few months I get to call it home...

From the just-for-looking to the practical,

from the frilly to the dinged up,

It's all home to me (:
